Our Partnership with Cambridge

Throughout our relationship, you’ll notice the name Cambridge Investment Research, Inc. on some of your paperwork. We want to be very transparent about what that means. We pride ourselves on being independent financial advisors, meaning we aren’t tied to specific investment products. With Cambridge, we have access to a world of investment options and no incentives to push one over another. As a hybrid practice, we mostly operate as fee-based in relation to the percentage of your assets that we manage. However, there are instances where a commission makes more sense than an ongoing fee, and Cambridge facilitates this flexibility.

Our partnership with Cambridge is also significant because they regulate what we do. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional, I’ve voluntarily agreed to uphold a fiduciary standard, going beyond industry requirements by always putting your best interests first. Cambridge, acting as our independent broker-dealer and Registered Investment Advisor (RIA), ensures we comply with FINRA, SEC, and state regulations. They audit us yearly, review our correspondence monthly, and act as intermediaries with companies to find the best possible solutions for your financial needs.

You can think of this relationship as a triangle. One corner is you and me, the other is Cambridge, and the third is the custodian that physically holds your money. This separate but collaborative structure is sort of like the branches of government with its checks and balances.

Even though you will see the name ‘Cambridge’ on your statements, we will always be your point of contact as we work to put the pieces of your financial puzzle together.
